Main Kasab Ban Jaaunga

I know.... I know you all are missing me... and my posts, of course ! Well, I was busy with my exam preparations. Yes, MBA has semester pattern... Matlab university waalo ko saal mein 2 mauke milte hain humaari beizzati karne ke !!

And this one is not my original creation. I read it on Facebook. I liked it very much. Yes ! Its a poem. It is a Hindi poem originally titled "A poem by unemployed youth of India", but I feel this poem not just reflects the sentiments of unemployed youth, but it is a mirror of general Indian sentiments. 

Here you go !

माँ मुझे एक बंदूक दे दे

मै कसाब बन जाऊँगा

दो चार मंत्री को मार

रोज कबाब मै खाऊँगा

यहाँ तो इक चादर भी नहीं

वहाँ नरम बिछौना पाऊँगा

दिन रात मै जागूँ यहाँ

वहाँ चैन की नींद सो जाऊँगा

यहाँ मिले गाली और घूंसा

यहाँ रोज मार मै खाऊँगा

वहाँ मुझे छिंक भी आये

तुरंत दवाई मै पाऊँगा

घर की सूखी रोटी से तो अच्छा

रोज बिरयानी खाऊंगा

और जब मैं अदालत में जाऊ

तो मंद मंद मुस्कराऊंगा

मुझे देख भारतवासी गुस्से से तिलमिलाए

तो उनकी किस्मत पर तरस खाऊंगा

फिर देना जब जनम मुझे

I do not preach violence or killings. But the fact that a bloody terrorist is enjoying the Indian hospitality rather than being hanged hurts me a lot. Kasab is the safest man in India. And we, the citizens of India, are still unsafe !

Thodi kahi, zyaada samajhna !

Such is life.

PS: If the Government of India is citing silly reasons like shortage of hangmen, I would love to play a hangman for Kasab ! Kasam se....

Wassssssssup?

Everyone who follows Good For Nothin.... knows that I, Ankit B. Rathod, is having the most dreadful nightmare in the life of a student (read :: exams) from 19th March (man... just three weeks away !! gotta start studying..). I know I need not mention this again and again. But I'm doing it to make myself aware that exams are approaching, and I need to set my ass on fire NOW !!

Well... every student knows that during exam time, even the most boring stuff seems very interesting. I'm not from Mars or Pluto or for that matter any other planet, and so its normal for me to do the same things as a typical student does during exams. For example - watching TV, even repeat telecasts of shows and games seen before, surfing the net, chatting, etc etc etc.

No wonder I even watched the India versus Pakistan hockey match. But India rocked !! Awesome match it was. And Sandeep Singh was simply brilliant.

Look I told you... During the exams, we like to waste our time... err... ("kill our time" suits better... isn't it?)... we like to kill our time doing the weirdest of the things.

I spend a lot of time on the internet (thanks to my cell manufacturer Nokia for providing me such a nice E63 ! and of course special thanks to my lovely network provider Airtel for reasons not to be mentioned here... ). As I said, I spend a lot of time surfing social networking sites, blogs, commenting, updating my status, and of course, chatting !

In my view, the most difficult question to answer while chatting to a friend is "Wassup??"

Frankly speaking, I never know what to answer. At times, taking the literal meaning of the slang, I stare towards the ceiling for a few seconds and end up with silly answers like fan, wall mounted AC, chandelier, etc. And sometimes, I mention the manufacturer too. Hang on.... hang on !! I'm not as stupid as you guys think !

Well, to the million dollar billion dollar question, WASSSSSSUP? that is, I try a few permutations and combinations based on my mood, the kind of friend I'm talking to, and a few more conditions :

1) Hi. What are you doing?? :)

And the reply I get is : "Chatting with you.... :D... So wassup??"

2) Hi. Had lunch (or breakfast, or dinner, supper etc.)...??

To which I get the reply : "Yup.. So wassup? U had lunch (or breakfast, or dinner, supper etc. ) ?"

If I reply "Yes...", I get this really irritating counter-question "What did you have?"... And I hate to discuss what and how much I eat...

3) Hi. preparing for the exams... (and I send this only during exams...)

For this I get a reply : "Y u always talking abt studies??? itna bhi mat padh yaar... lol :D.. so temme.. wassup??"

These were just a few of them, there are many of these. No matter what you try, you will always be stuck in an infinite loop of "Wassup?"

And after much research over this faltoo, errr... million dollar question, I found out a middle path, which has been a safe path so far (almost !). All I do is say the following GOLDEN words :

NM (short for Nothing Much)... U say... wassup wid u?

And hence, I get out of the infinite loop, leaving the friend stuck in his/her own trap infinite loop of "Wassup?"

Okay... Now you tell me what do you usually reply to "Wassup??"

PS : Studying schedule keeps getting postponed. I guess I really need a pandit to get my studies started as per some muhurat so that I manage to clear my exams. :P

Mumbai 26/11 - Bhoole Nahi Hum....

Extraordinary circumstances evoke extreme reactions and therefore need to be handled with extreme caution. The Mumbai terror strike brought death, devastation and shame. The vultures who wrote the script had planned it like this. What more could they have expected. They got round the clock television coverage as they held a nation of a billion plus population to ransom. And even though everything went according to their script what they failed to calculate was the enormous, once in a life time, kind of opportunity that they presented to the mighty Indian nation.

History is replete with examples. Opportunity travels alongside death and devastation. Japan was able to grab it because the death and devastation caused by the nuclear strikes on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were wrapped in shame. America's 9/11 also had shame written all over. And now if those who planned the terror strikes in India are not taken care of once and for all the opportunity that has come alongside the Mumbai shame would also be lost for good.

Of what good is the nuclear deterrent if we can be bled like this. Has the weapon of peace been good to us in any way? Peace sells, but who's buying it? The lives of those who are still lucky to be alive are in no way more important than those who have laid down their lives. Let not a single drop of Indian blood go waste. Those who are coming out on to the streets be ware, it is no candle light party out there. Everything comes for a cost and the cost has to be borne by everyone.

Let's not look up for any kind of action to the Singh who became king by buying votes in parliament. Nor from the BJP that abused the ATS chief a day before his death and later turned up at his residence to offer a compensation of Rs One Crore to his family. Nor the communists for whom shame is a decent word. Only a rabid dog could have said this: not a dog would have visited the Unnikrishnans' house had it not been the slain Major's house. Where and when in history has a martyr's father been treated like this? What could be more shameful than this?

The solution is lying somewhere around in the dark. We needed to act, and we needed to act fast. But we didn't. Who's responsible for this cowardly act? All eyes on Pakistan. All fingers point to Pakistan. We even had the proofs. But we couldn't do anything. We handed a number of dossiers to the neighbor, but no stern action taken till date.

Mr Manmohan Singh, a year is too much. For you, it might be just one-fifth (just twenty per cent) of your term, but to the families of the martyrs and deceased, each day passed as a year. And you didn't care. Only monetary compensation and showing sympathy is not the solution. The solution lies in curbing terror from the root.

Yes !! I feel shame when I have to accept that we have failed. I don't know what others feel. I don't know if Mr Manmohan Singh feels the shame or not, but I do. 'Coz we failed. We failed to provide security not only to our people, but also to foreign nationals. We failed to act against the perpetrators. We are merely watching the tamaasha unfold in Pakistan. We are helpless. We lack the spirit. We shouldn't have moved on with this until any strong action had been taken. But we moved on. India lacks leadership. India lacks courage.

I feel shame when I see the President of India having a gala time flying a Sukhoi, but she has no time to come down to Mumbai on the first anniversary of the deadly massacre. I feel shame when I see pics of the Prime Minister partying in the USA when people are paying homage to the martyrs and the deceased. It happens only in India !!

If India is crying for leadership, this crisis had the potential to throw up one. Only raising slogans against the government and the politicians is not enough. A few of us should have raised from the rubble to become leaders. But we chose to remain silent and protest. Candle light vigils can just add CO2 to the already polluted environment. Let there be no peace till the perpetrators of the Mumbai Mayhem are smoked out of their safe holes.

JAI HIND !!! JAI JAWAAN !!! 

May the souls of the martyrs and the deceased rest in peace....

Amen.

Cruelty to Peace Prize !

What is the difference between a Google Wave invite and a Nobel prize? Anyone can get a Nobel (Rohit Khetarpal)

Kissinger, Begin, Sadat, Obama, etc. But not Mahatma Gandhi? What kind of peace prize is this? (Vir Sanghvi)

They once gave Winston Churchill the Nobel for literature! So they have a history of sucking up to the powerful (Vir Sanghvi) 

Do you think the Norwegians want something from America? The Nobel to Obama makes no sense otherwise (Vir Sanghvi)

Personally think that while im an Obama fan, a Nobel is utterly disproportionate. Nobels should be given for achievements not passion (Barkha Dutt)

Well, these were just a few tweets that I came across. And I'm sure there would be a millions showing their shock over this award. Nobel is losing the status it once had.

I'd like to throw some light on why this controversy has arisen. There are a few points behind it :

• The nominations were due to the Nobel committee on Feb 1. Mr Obama took the office on Jan 20. So what Obama-ji did in 264 hours wins him the prestigious award !!
• The committee cast their votes in June. Even at that time, four months of Obama's steps (or rather ideas) towards world peace and nuclear proliferation were so great that they won him a Nobel !
• Even if we take the time of the declaration, which happens to be 9 months after becoming the US Prez, its a very short period for someone to receive such an honour.

If someone can win a Nobel just on the basis of how much can he talk about world peace (rather than work for it), I think our very own Mahesh Bhatt and Rakhi Sawant (with due respect to both) should concentrate on 'world peace' and 'nuclear proliferation' instead of poking their nose in every other matter. That could win them a Nobel. ;)


I do not hate Obama. In fact, I preferred Obama over John McCain to be the US President. I just feel that he, at this point of time, does not deserve the Nobel.


Lets have a look at Obama's failures (towards world peace) :

• Pakistan continues to get US Aid (and that too tripled) even after suspicious links of the Pakistan Army and ISI with the terrorists.
• Failed attempts to curb the activities of Taliban in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
• US Army still there in Iraq and Afghanistan.
• Failed to stop Iran and North Korea's nuclear programmes.
• Delay in releasing Guantenamo prisoners.

With this award to Obama, the prestigious Norwegian Nobel prize has lost its credibility. I call this a cruelty to the Peace Prize. Still, Congrats Obama-ji !!!

BJP v/s Democracy?

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems to be in a state of shock since its defeat in the 2009 general elections. And instead of recuperating from the shock, its taking steps which can not be called democratic or wise or both.

Lets take two cases, both equally important, both related in some way to my state Rajasthan, and both tackled equally in undemocratic ways. We'll deal with both of them in chronological order.

The first example is of ex-CM of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje. As everybody knows, all of a sudden she was told by the 'high-command' to quit the post of the Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly. For the sake of information let me tell you, the BJP has 78 MLAs out of the total strength of 200 in the state assembly. And out of these 78, more than 50 MLAs stood for Raje (that's nearly two-thirds majority) and these MLAs even tried to review the order. They travelled to New Delhi to meet party's top leader L K Advani and party president Rajnath Singh. Advani refused to meet them. Later, two of Raje's staunch supporters Rajendra Rathore and Gyan Dev Ahuja were expelled from the party on the grounds of indiscipline. (dude.... if being in majority is indiscipline, then i guess the BJP top brass need to review 'their definition' of indiscipline....)

Another example is a more recent one. Its regarding another senior BJP leader. Coincidentally, even he belongs to Rajasthan. He is the ex-armyman ex-Foreign Minister Jaswant Singh. And the basis of his ouster from the BJP is supposed to be his latest book "Jinnah : India, Partition, Independence" based on his personal research depicting his views on the partition. Well, here I jump again to comment on this issue. If expressing one's views is a crime, then BJP stands nowhere. BJP is okay with communal remarks of Varun Gandhi against a community. But BJP isn't okay with expression of views.

Jaswant Singh did not release his book as a party document, he released it as an independent author. Its disheartening to see such senior leaders of a party being treated in such a disgraceful manner. What was the fault of Jaswant Singh? That he praised Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who is the father of nation of Pakistan. That he felt that Nehru was more to be blamed for the partition than Jinnah. Even the then-PM-in-waiting Advani praised Jinnah. He was also criticised for that. But he wasn't expelled. He wasn't sidelined. Well, whatever be the story, the conclusion is somewhat clear : The BJP has lost it !!!

Ab jo kaam karna chahiye, wo to karte nahi hai.... BJP needs to find a replacement for Lal Krishna Advani. It has so far failed to find young faces to represent itself. And the Congress on the other side, has developed its new bunch of young politicians.

And in a recent series of twists and turns, Advani camp is reportedly wooing Vasundhara Raje to quit and fill the place left void by the exit of Jaswant Singh. Looks like - Saam Daam Dand Bhed - all the tricks in the book are being tried and tested.

I am not a supporter of any political party. I am just putting my thoughts forth on the issue as any other Indian. Hope this era of 'undemocratic politics' end here.

Aazadiiiiiii......

Independence Day wishes to start with.... Today seems to be a special day.... And it is indeed a special day. I'm feeling like a kid who's having his birthday. After all, I am a part of my country. And I'm proud of it.

Actually, I have been thinking to write a post for the Independence Day since almost a week. But somehow I couldn't. I either had no time, or when I had time, I had no idea as such. And a few thoughts which were doing the rounds of my mind, have already been expressed by me in my Republic Day post 'Patriotism', and I had no intentions of repeating them. And don't be in an illusion that what I expressed in that post have changed. I still think the SAME. So, here I am, writing an extempore blog post. Go on guys, have a read. It won't be that bad. If it were bad, I myself would've trashed it :)

Well.... Its a week filled with fever.... Don't think I'm talking about the deadly flu caused by the H1N1 virus, which most of the people call 'Swine Flu' or 'Swine flew' (God.... kya zamaana hai... even swines have started flying... for those who don't know, swine = pig.... with due respect... lol) or whatever.... I'm talking about the independence fever. Although, it has been overshadowed by the sick news of swine flu. Its disheartening to see people dying and the stupid media making fuss out of it. Instead of creating awareness among the public, the Indian media is creating a panic situation. I got a bit carried away. Lets stick to the topic.

As I said, its the week of Independence Day, so one sees a sudden change in the behaviour of people. They suddenly start feeling patriotic, they start the preparation for the celebration. You can see flags everywhere. You hear patriotic songs like 'Mere desh ki dharti...' and 'Saare jahaan se achha Hindustaan humara....' more often. You can see school kids all gearing up and practising for the I-Day march and performances. All looks so good. Its a sudden outburst of patriotic emotions, which happens only at either Independence Day or Republic Day or in case the country is in crisis. Still, we know, we all love India. Its just that we don't show it.

Although I don't like our 'back-biting' neighbour much, still I take this opportunity to wish all the people across the border in Pakistan a warm Independence Day. Guys, its high time. Ab toh sudhar jaao. I know the common Pakistani people don't have that harsh feeling against India, as we don't have against them. Its just that some bloody politicians (on both sides of the LoC) still want to maintain the gap between India and Pakistan.

If I go on citing the negativities of India, you might tag me a pessimist. But since I'm not one, I'd like to tell you that "I AM PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN". I always have this pride to have been born in a country with such a vast culture and varied heritage. As it is said, nothing is perfect. We too have some drawbacks, and I'm sure we shall overcome....

Kargil - a war that wasn't....

Ten years ago, on this day, India supposedly 'won' a battle. A battle which wasn't technically a battle 'coz it was fought inside India's own territory. Yet, Kargil war was something thats still fresh in the memories of thousands of Indians. Although many of the youngsters of my age do not exactly know what happened in 1999, but I do. When top-notch politicians (read :: Union Minister Shreeprakash Jaiswal) doesn't remember, these youngsters can't be blamed.

Ten years ago, or even some seven years ago, if someone asked me my opinion about Kargil, I would've proudly said, "Yes, India won it. We won it. We defeated the intruders." But ten years down the line, if someone asks me the same question, my answer will definitely be different. That's coz there hasn't been the impact of Kargil war. We haven't gained much out of it. I agree that we were successful in shooing away the infiltrators, but the overall result is just NIL.

Yes, we haven't been able to achieve what we wanted. We wanted a terror-free India and a terror-free neighbourhood, which we haven't been able to get. In fact, we've lost more than we've gained. We have lost 533 brave soldiers. We've lost a hell lot of money.

And what we see today is just some self-proclaimed leaders politicising the martyrs' death for their own personal gain. Look at Congress MP Rashid Alvi. In an interview to Headlines Today, Alvi said he saw no reason to celebrate Kargil victory. "Kargil isn't a thing to be celebrated. The war was fought within our territory. We didn't even come to know when the Pakistani army crossed over and built bunkers inside our territory. It's only the NDA which may celebrate." I think a war is a war. Lets not bias it on the basis of political parties. Any war is fought for a country and not for a political party.

And as I already mentioned earlier, another Congressman and union minister Shreeprakash Jaiswal doesn't remember that 'Kargil Vijay Diwas' falls on 26th July.

Our very own Prime Minister Manmohan Singh can go to France to attend 220th anniversary of Bastille Day, but not a union minister can pay a visit to Kargil on the 10th anniversary of the war. This shows the dull attitude of the government towards those who laid their lives for the country. Can't these bloody politicians just stop playing their dirty political games and pay homage to the martyrs? Will this incident not demoralise the forces? Why would a soldier think of dying for a country just to face such a humiliation?

Although the army will be celebrating the 'Kargil Vijay Diwas' on its own right there in Kargil, the Defense minister A K Antony won't be attending it, neither any top minister or official will be there. Antony would be laying wreaths at Amar Jawan Jyoti at the India Gate in Delhi.

I feel the government has forgotten this war. But they shouldn't forget the war heroes.

My sincere homage to all the martyrs who laid their lives so that I and other fellow Indians can be safe. Thanks a lot....

Attack on SL Cricketers in Pak

In a daring raid reminiscent of the Mumbai attack, terrorists in Lahore targeted the Sri Lankan cricket team that is currently touring Pakistan on Tuesday morning.

Unidentified gunmen, believed to be 12 in number and armed with Kalashnikov rifles and rocket launchers, opened fire on the bus carrying the cricketers to Gaddafi stadium in the city.

Initial reports said the attackers came in a white car and reportedly surrounded the bus at Liberty Chowk in the heart of the city and first fired rockets at the bus. They then resorted to indiscriminate firing with automatic firearms.

The attackers then started firing at a police van which was providing security to the Lankan team.

City police chief Haji Habibur Rehman said five policemen died in the attack.



According to a Reuters report :

Gunmen killed at least four people in an attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team's bus on Tuesday as it drove to a stadium in the Pakistani city of Lahore, according witnesses and cricket officials.

Sri Lankan media, quoting the sports minister, said four players received minor injuries in the attack — Kumar Sangakkara, Ajantha Mendis, Thilan Samaraweera and Tharanga Paranavithana.

Pakistan television channels news channels said four people were killed. A witness told Reuters he believed two police commandos were killed along with a regular policeman and a traffic warden. Shopkeeper Ahmed Ali said the two police commandos had been driving behind the team bus when they were hit.

"It was a very heavy firing and I heard at least two explosions at the time," said a Reuters witness who had been on his way to cover the test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan only invited the Sri Lanka team to tour after India's team pulled out with security concerns following the militant attacks on the Indian city of Mumbai in November.

A Pakistani Cricket Board official said six players were injured and admitted to a hospital.
The players reported injured are Thilan Samaraweera, Kumar Sangakkara, Ajantha Mendis, Mahela Jayawardene, Tharanga Paranavithana and Chaminda Vaas. Vaas was reportedly carried off on a stretcher while Samaraweera and Tharanga Paranavithana were reportedly shot at.

Sri Lankan cricketer Kumara Sangakkara, while speaking to CNN-IBN, said :

"I had a sharpnel inside my shoulder, Ajantha had a few in his scalp and he also had a thigh injury. We are fine now. I don't regret coming to Pakistan to play cricket because that is our profession. We are all out of danger now. I am very happy that I am safe"

A Lanka team spokesperson has now said that both Tharanga and Samaraweera are out of danger.

Six policemen are reported dead. The van carrying the umpires was also attacked. Assistant coach Paul Farbrace has also been reportedly injured.

The Sri Lankan tour has been officially called off.

The audacious attack in the heart of the city is reminiscent of the attack on Mumbai hotels. It is a clear pointer to what the perpetrators had on their mind — a Mumbai-like reaction and outrage from international community.

The impunity with which the attack was carried out, especially when cricketing events in the country sees unprecedented security measure, is sure to rattle the international community about security measures in Pakistan.

Speaking to the media after the attack, Punjab Governor Salmaan Tahseer said:

"They are the same people who attacked Mumbai. It's a Mumbai-like operation. These were trained killers and are not ordinary criminals."

After initial postponement, India had officially called off its cricket tour to Pakistan on December 18 after the government refused permission to the team in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.

That cancellation followed after relations between the neighbours deteriorated further following the 26/11 attacks.

Indian cricket team was scheduled to play three Tests, five One-Dayers and a Twenty20 match from January 4 to February 28 in Pakistan.

Security concerns in Pakistan have troubled tours in that country before as well. As many as three tours were cancelled in the last year alone.

Australia pulled out of their scheduled visit, while the International Cricket Council (ICC) postponed the Champions Trophy one-day tournament in September.

India... Stop Begging, Start Demanding

India has provided Pakistan with fresh evidences of involvement of Pakistani 'elements' in the Mumbai attacks. Not only Pakistan, but India has provided the same evidences to the officials of the foreign countries whose citizens were killed in the attacks.

These evidences include information on the weapons, records of calls made to Pakistan using satellite phones, mobile phones and via internet, videos and transcripts of interrogations of the caught terrorist Aamir Ajmal Kasab.

After being handed over such concrete evidences, Pakistan initially said that it will look into the matter. But it seems to be in no mood to act on the detailed evidences provided by India.

Strong proof exists in the evidences handed over by India, but despite that mounting evidence, Pakistan continues to indicate that it will not take any action against terrorists.

Wajid Shamsul Hasan, Pakistan's High Commissioner to the UK, is trying to blame India instead. He said, "As far as the India allegations are concerned, they are much similar to the past. we have been telling them that we are willing for a joint investigation, setting up a joint commission for looking into the charges and allegations. But so far we have not received any positive response from India. As a matter of fact, they continue with their jingoistic language."

Much of India's evidence against the terrorists comes from interrogations of Aamir Ajmal Kasab, the only terrorist to survive the attacks. He has reportedly told authorities that he and his nine other attackers were Pakistani, he was trained in Pakistan, and his handlers are still there. But Pakistan has said it has no record of Kasab as a Pakistani citizen.

Well.... in my personal opinion, there's no point in giving Pakistan more evidences. What happens is India keeps providing evidences and Pakistan, on the other side, finds new excuses not to act on the terror outfits. Enough of pleading to such a useless country for our own security. Stop begging, start demanding. Why can't we just make a move and finish all the bloody scoundrels (read :: terrorists) in Pakistan?

Let us take the example of Israel. A small country, yet it does not spare the attackers. Although the comparisons are unreal, yet there's a point in comparing the two very different countries. Indian government only talks and never delivers, Israel delivers what it promises as action and that’s what excites Indians. But the fact is also that Israel enjoys the immunity of the world community and not one American politician has dared to speak about what’s happening in Israel now.

The difference between India and Israel is the vote bank. India has a large number of Muslim voters and no political party would like to hurt its 'vote bank' by making first move (read :: attack) on Pakistan (a Muslim country). This doesn't mean we should keep mum on this very sensitive issue. Politicians should stop playing with religious sentiments. Get over the vote bank politics and act tough now. No doubt, India's Muslim community will stand against Pakistan.

Thats the time that has spent since the Mumbai Mayhem has started. The attack, touted as one of the worst in the world, one of the biggest in India, wasn't carried out only on Mumbai, it was an attack carried out on India as a whole.

I think, you have given enough time to Pakistan to hand over the dreaded terrorists. You have given enough time to Pakistan to curb terrorism in its own boundaries. You have given enough time to Pakistan by providing them with concrete evidences of their involvement in the attacks. You have had enough of 'diplomatic' talks and 'peaceful' tries to avoid a war-like situation.

But if they want a war, we shouldn't back out. We shouldn't remain pressurised from a third country. After all, its a matter of our sovereignity and security. And no third country will come and protect us if we are under such coward acts.

A country that has waged two wars, one when it was attacked by terrorists, and another only on the basis of suspicion, tries to prevent a war on a country which has been a breeding ground for terrorism. A country who is invading other countries in the name of its 'war on terrorism' stops us from doing the same. Bizarre !!! And on the other side, India has still not been able to understand such 'double standards' of the USA.

Well, coming back to Pakistan, we have given enough evidence of its (direct or indirect) involvement in the terrorist acts in India. Even the FBI has confirmed that all the terrorists (nine killed and one arrested in the Mumbai attacks) were Pakistanis. Yet, our 'friendly' neighbours do not agree to this very fact. They make one statement one day, and deny it the very next day. All of them have done it, be it President Asif Ali Zardari or PM Yusuf Raza Gilani or ex-PM Nawaz Sharif (not so 'sharif'). In fact, Pakistan should be renamed as 'U-Turn-istan'.

India should shed its image of a soft country and show it to the world that no more terror attacks will be tolerated। Although, I do not support the idea of war, I do not think that war is the solution to any problem, but I think that if the 'problem' (read :: Pakistan) does not understand, war is the ultimate solution.

All the Pakistani politicians are making statements that provoke war। They say that they are ready for one। My view is that if they are ready, why should we not fulfil their desire? If all they want is a war, why not give them one? After all, its something they wish.

Pakistan deserves to face the consequences for its deeds over the years.

World War III on the cards???

Of late, I have been commenting much on the Indian politics. But let me remind you I'm not a political critic, neither I'm affiliated to any political party. But I'm just expressing my views in the wake of the terror attacks. And this post is the next one in the series.

I have tentatively titled this post 'World War III on the cards???' because of the present situations. In case, India wages a war against Pakistan, there can be polarisation of powers in the world leading to another World War. And in case of a World War, the nuke option can not be ruled out. But thats a distant thought. I don't think that would happen, 'coz India (the government and the politicians) is too slow to take decisions like this. After all, it has to maintain its 'Won't-Attack-First' image.

Indian politics and the people in power in India have a big problem for not taking the right decisions at right time. The decisions which should have been taken long time ago, they are still thinking of it.

Is the current terrorist attack in Mumbai is not enough for giving them the evidence who have done this with what intentions? There are so many terrorist camp are running in PoK (Pakistan occupied Kashmir) where they can easily target the terrorist. If Pakistan is not taking any action against those terrorists served by Pakistan in some manner, providing them space for camps, helping them in protection and training and vice-versa, India has to take action against those terrorist no matter who support them only for the reason that they are making us Indians suffer. Why the hell should we suffer because of a few mental retards (read :: terrorists) who kill innocents in the name of 'Jehad'?

Islam does not preach violence. Nor does it preach killing innocents for the sake of your own selfish propaganda. And a few people (like Mr A R Antulay) should keep their mouth shut. Just raising some communal issue at such a critical time. When the whole of India stands united against terrorism, a Union Minister creates divides between the Hindus and the Muslims by giving a senseless and baseless statement. Please Mr Antulay.... Please spare India.... Just don't start your votebank politics at such a time.

Time and again, I have mentioned in my blog, that its time to take some stringent action on this issue. The Government of India has proposed some tough anti-terror laws and a federal investigation agency. But this only will not help our cause. We have to make sure that the neighbouring country (read :: Pakistan) does something concrete against the terrorist organisations that have flourished in its horizons in the past few years. If Pakistan does not entertain us, India must be ready to cross the LoC and take appropriate action in order to protect itself from such incidents in future.

Although I understand what an attack is. I understand that a war is not good for any country, but this is not what we have started. We are simply replying them in the same manner they opt to. They started all this. And we are just answering them in their own way.

Well..... Its a great drama. Yeah.... all this is nothing else but drama. India has all the evidences of Pakistan's (direct or indirect) involvement in terror attacks in India. India has provided the same to Pakistan. But, on the other side, Pakistan does not entertain the 'concrete' evidences. Pakistan offers to send the ISI chief to India just after the Mumbai attacks. And the day after the announcement, it takes a full U-Turn from the statement and cancels the visit. Wow !!! The President Asif Ali Zardari and the PM Gilani make one statement one day and come tomorrow, they will take a complete U-Turn. A great drama has unfolded. India can not do anything to the guilty (of course, Pakistan) even with the evidence, and Pakistan still behaves like there's no involvement of any Pakistani, defying all the evidences. GREAT !!!

I just wanna ask a few simple questions to the Pakistani authorities (Zardari/Gilani/ISI/whatever....)

• If Kasab (the terrorist caught) isn't a Pakistani national, then why have you cordoned off the Faridkot village which India claims to be Kasab's village?
• Why don't you let the Kasab family (according to India's claims) in that village to meet anybody?
• The Pakistani media (namely, the newspaper Dawn and the TV channel Geo TV) have already confirmed the nationality of Kasab. Why have you imposed a case against the Geo TV for allegedly 'damaging Pakistan's image'?
• Is broadcasting the truth 'damaging Pakistan's image'?

If we get the answers to these questions, the case would be clear. Isn't it?

I had watched a movie a while ago, 'A Wednesday' where the protagonist Naseeruddin Shah, a 'stupid' common man plans to kill four dreaded terrorists who have been held in different cases and were simply waiting for there case to be taken by the government. This 'stupid common man' did a series of acts, throwing light at the loopholes, and finally compelling the police to hand over the four terrorists to him. And then, in the climax, he blows them up, simplifying the task. Well.... I know it was a movie, but it can be a reality too. If the terrorists can find loopholes in the security system, why can't a 'stupid common man' do the same to protect himself and his own motherland? If one '(A) Wednesday' can do some good to this country, I wish there were some more 'Wednesdays' and that too in reality....

I believe if they have started this 'war', we must not stay out of it and let them see what India can do with those who think life is a game. Let us give them a fitting reply that it is not a game... and if you think it is a game, YOUR GAME ENDS NOW...!!!

An Open Letter to the PM....

Dear Mr Prime Minister

I am a citizen of India, who has just exercised his right to vote.

Having lived in Mumbai for quite sometime, I have lived a life of a typical mouse. In the local train compartment which has capacity of 100 persons, I have travelled with 500 more mice. A mouse can at least squeak but we can't even do that.

I heard your speech a few days ago. In which you said 'NO BODY WOULD BE SPARED'. I would like to remind you that fourteen years have passed since serial bomb blast in Mumbai took place. Dawood Ibrahim was the main conspirator. Till date he is free. All our Bollywood actors, our builders, our Gutka king meets him but your Government can not catch him. Reason is simple; all your ministers are hand in glove with him. If any attempt is made to catch him everybody will be exposed. Your statement 'NOBODY WOULD BE SPARED' is nothing but a cruel joke on the unfortunate people of India.

Enough is enough. As such after seeing terrorist attack carried out by ten young boys I realize that if same thing continues days are not away when terrorist will attack by air, destroy our nuclear reactors and there will be one more Hiroshima, in our own backyard.

We the people are left with only one mantra : 'Womb to Bomb to Tomb'. You promised every Mumbaikar Shanghai but in fact what you have given us is Jalianwala Baug.

Your good-for-nothin' Home Minister resigned. What took you so long to kick out this joker? The only reason for you not taking any action against him was that he was loyal to Gandhi family. Loyalty to Gandhi family is more important than blood of hundreds of innocent people, isn't it?

I was born and have lived in Mumbai for quite some time. Believe me corruption in Maharashtra is worse than that in Bihar. Look at all the politician, Sharad Pawar, Chhagan Bhujbal, Narayan Rane, Bal Thackeray, Raj Thackeray, Vilasrao Deshmukh all are rolling in money. Vilasrao Deshmukh is one of the worst Chief minister I have seen. His only business is to increase the FSI every other day, make money and send it to Delhi so Congress can fight next election. Now the clown has found new way and will increase FSI for the fishermen so they can build concrete house right on sea shore. Next time the terrorists will come by sea route, comfortably live in those house, enjoy the beauty of sea and then attack Mumbai at their will.

If this has been land of fools and idiots then I would not have ever cared to write you this letter. Just see the tragedy, on one side we are reaching moon, people are so intelligent and on other side you politician has converted nectar into deadly poison. I am everything - Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Jain, Parsi, Scheduled Caste, OBC, Muslim OBC, Christian Scheduled Caste, Creamy Scheduled Caste - only that I am not is 'INDIAN'. You politicians have raped every part of mother India by your policy of divide and rule.

Dear Mr Prime Minister, you are one intelligent person, a learned person, a great economist. Just wake up, be a real SARDAR. First and foremost expose all selfish politicians. Ask the Swiss bank and other international banks to reveal the names of all Indian account holders. Give reins of CBI to independent agency. Let them find the wolf among us. There will be a political upheaval but that will at least be better than the dance of death which we are witnessing almost every day. Just give us the ambience where we can work honestly and live without fear. Let there be rule of law. Everything else will be taken care of.

Choice is yours Mr Prime Minister. Do you want to be led by one person or you want to lead the nation of a billion people?

My friend Saunil's friend (he wanted me to write his name in the post.... happy Saunil? :p) wrote these beautiful lines and i couldn't resist myself from putting them here....

Certainly, we need a 'paradise city' rather than a 'terrorised city'....

Just a Small Incident ?

"Bade bade deshon mein chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hai", said Shah Rukh Khan in DDLJ (need not expand it... do i?) and endeared himself to the audiences. This dialogue is still remembered by millions. But yesterday, Mr R R Patil, the home minister of Maharashtra, made me remind that very dialogue when he shamelessly said "Mumbai ek bahut bada sheher hai. Aise ek-adh haadse ho hote hi rahenge. Woh 5000 logon ko maarne aaye the, lekin us hisaab se nuksaan kam hua hai." Really??? I wonder if you would have said the same words had some of your relatives been taken hostage or killed in the attack or had your beloved 'Mantralaya' been the very site of the hostage crisis?

I beg to disagree with you Mr Patil, in your own words 'ek-adh chhota haadsa'. This really wasn't one of such kind. And your CM Vilas Rao Deshmukh saw this 'chhota haadsa' as an opportunity to promote the idea of a film with Ram Gopal Varma and his son Riteish (do hell with the way he spells his name). So its a big enough an incident to make a film on it, but not enough to take some stringent action. Isn't it, Mr Patil?

We have lost some of our top officers. All because you guys care a damn about the safety equipments. The safety equipments used by the security personnel were outdated while those used by the terrorists were at par in technology. Why??? Its because you bloody politicians are so busy proving who's Maharashtrian and who isn't.

Every Indian (including the Mumbaikars and the North-Indians) were really missing Mr Raj Thackeray and his 'brave men'. MNS (or MaNSe) men, you guys missed the action, really. Believe me, you guys would have been tagged as 'National Heroes' had you even tried to battle the fucking terrorists to save 'your beloved Mumbai'. Forget some action, Mr Raj Thackeray was so busy (read :: scared) to even give a statement to the media. It would have been a lot better had you guys raised the issue of better equipment and training facilities for the security forces. But there were some guys from the Mumbai Police, the NSG, the MARCOS (acronym for :: Marine Commandos), most of them from North India, who were playing the role of 'Marathi Manoos'. And all you guys did was put some banners and hoardings paying 'Shraddhanjali' to the slain officers, alongwith your party slogans.

And the great ruling coalition (both in Maharashtra and the Centre) says that its ministers have always taken the 'moral responsibility' and resigned. Mr Shivraj Patil, the Union Home Minister and Mr R R Patil, Home Minister of Maharashtra, both have resigned. But my dear (dirty) politicians, let me remind you that its not just 'moral' responsibility, but its the total absolute responsibility of the Home Minister to see to it that the citizens are safe. Its not a symbolic responsibility, its your very real responsibility, that is what you were supposed to do when you were given the home ministry portfolio.

Will your resigning get back those killed? The answer is 'NO'. Isn't it? It doesn't matter that you resign after so much has happened. If you can't do your work properly, you don't have the right to be there. You may have the time to change your clothes three times when there's a terrorist attack. But we don't have any patience left in us. We have been tired of showing that such incidents don't affect us, even when they do. People live in constant fear of the fact that they are not safe.

I have lived in Mumbai for quite sometime and I know what happens when the 'Maximum City' of Mumbai gets stuck in time with incidents like this. I have experienced the pain during the Train Blasts in Mumbai. Yes I am angry and outraged like most Mumbaikars, or for that matter like most Indians. I don't want to show my resilient 'spirit' once again. I don't want to pay for your security when I live in constant fear of being killed anywhere anytime. I want YOU, who were elected to take decisions for us, to actually do something rather than making political statements, mud-slinging and changing clothes.

Dear fellow Indians, its time to wake up and take the governance in our hands rather than lighting candles, wearing white. Let us all vote (for the right person obviously) and get a radical change in the system.

Bits and Pieces - Aftermath of Mumbai Mayhem

I was glued to the TV watching the nail-biting fifth one-dayer between India and England. Flipping the channels was strictly not allowed. The match ended with India's win in the match as well as 5-0 lead in the seven-match series. One step ahead towards a whitewash. After the win, I changed the channel, just to see the news (of over-excitement of Indian news channels) of India's win.

Forget the good news, there was the news of firing at four places in Mumbai. The reporters, initially, tagged it as a gangwar. But i sensed something much much more fishy. A gangwar can not take place at so many places at the same time. Within minutes, the news of a blast at Vile Parle flashed on the screen, affirming my belief of a terror attack.

At that time, the victory in the cricket match looked so very irrelevant. Cricket is not larger than life, not even in India, where it is said to be a religion. IRONICAL !

I didn't even watch the presentation ceremony. All I was doing was flipping between the news channels.

The terrorists had already started firings at the Taj, the Oberoi-Trident, CST, Cama Hospital, Leopold Café.... I couldn't sleep that night, even though I knew that allmy near and dear ones were safe.

Next day, the picture became clearer. Those guys had taken a lot of people as hostages, including foreigners, in the Taj, the Oberoi-Trident and Nariman House. I thought these guys had some demands to make. The news channels were doing LIVE coverage of the rescue operations, something which could've posed a bigger threat since the terrorists might have been watching every move of the security personnel LIVE on the TV.

Bullets. Fire. Grenades. Hostages.

I kept watching silently.

I had seen our Home Minister changing clothes after the blasts in Delhi. And that night I saw him informing the whole world on TV that NSG men are leaving to take on the terrorists. He gave the details. Number of NSG men, what time they would leave and what time they would start the operations.

Thank you Mr Minister. The terrorists were watching you on the TV.

And I was watching it all silently.

That night I also wondered where was Raj Thackeray and his 'brave' men who wanted to save their beloved Mumbai from North Indians. Why was he seen nowhere to save the lives of Mumbaikars? And did he ask the NSG commandoes whether they are from north or south? Or do they speak Marathi? Since the NSG commandos arrived 9 hours later, Raj and his men should have been sent to 'save their Mumbai' in the interim.

Mumbai for Marathis! NO!!! Mumbai belongs to all of us. Attack on Mumbai is attack on India. And that night all the Indians were worried and glued to TV and praying for the safety of hostages. They were not praying for Mumbaikars or Marathis or South Indians or North Indians. They were praying for all the INDIANS.

Even I prayed. I prayed for the well being of those inside, except the terrorists of course.

That night I also read Amitabh Bachhan's blog. Day 218. And I was stuck at the last sentence of the blog.

"Before retiring for the night, I pulled out my licensed .32 revolver,
loaded it and put it under my pillow. For a very disturbed sleep."

Disturbing times indeed.

I am still silent. But I know its time to speak up. Speak up and ask our damn good-for-nothing politicians and administrators how long they are going to cage us in fear and insecurity?Speak up and ask why don't we have a leader who can come out and say YES WE CAN !

We were tired of waking up each morning to the news of terror attack in some or the other part of the country, at least I was. I needed some result. Some damn result !

The Oberoi-Trident was cleared by evening and Nariman House by night. But the terrorists were still playing hide-and-seek with the security forces at the Taj. The Taj was cleared by next morning, thus ending the biggest terror attack on India in 59 hours. By late evening, it was found out that they were just 10 terrorists who carried out the inhuman act.

This was an example what a few 20-somethings can do. These 10 guys halted the world's largest democracy, the world's future superpower.

All of us are tired. Tired of facing terror attacks. Tired of the reports of the insensitive media. Tired of trusting people. Tired of being helpless. As a friend put it,

Why we, the youth of India, can't do a fucking thing to change the
fucking system at the moment?

I still sometimes wonder that why do Indians fight with other Indians in the name of caste, language, race, etc instead of fighting the motherfucker enemies of the country.

The aftermath of terror attack was something even more painful than the attack itself. With the media trying to reach everywhere, even at the cremation grounds and at houses of the martyrs, its much much more painful to see someone's funeral LIVE on the bloody idiot-box, and its even more painful to see the state of the kins of the deceased. The media fraternity (as they call themselves) must STOP doing such a crap. Just for the sake of your viewership, you guys are making commercial use of something like DEATH.


Another aftermath took in the political circles with Shivraj Patil (coincidentally from Maharashtra) vacating the post of Home Minister. He resigned taking the moral responsibility of the attacks. P Chidambaram is given the Home portfolio while the Finance portfolio (earlier held by P Chidambaram) will now be held by the PM himself.


Well much said about the good-for-nothing politicians and of course the insensitive media. Its time to end this post. But before ending, I would like to mention a message, which reads like this :

Forgiving the terrorists is left to God. But fixing their
appointment with God is our responsibility.
